The Principal members of each Consulting firm engaged are involved in a coherent team that will be able to address and exceed client expectations for a successful solution.

John McGinn

Project Responsibilities

John will provide the Principal Architect leadership role in direction and overview for the project and the design and consultant team. He will be in charge of coordination of the consultants, maintaining overall design and design/project schedule, and contract coordination/liaison with the client.

John will be the Project Architect in charge of design and maintaining the design schedule. He will direct the balance of the consultant team in delivering the project to meet the goals and objectives set forth in the proposal.

A summary of some of John' s responsibilities include:

  • Phase 1A Pre-Design; assemble all pertinent information for briefing consultants on Assessment report content, updating and coordinating pre-design material.
  • Phase 1B - Schematic Design; preparing schematic design studies and alternate solutions for, preparing budget estimates (if required) and coordinating design schedules, reviewing with authorities, meeting with clients to review Phase 1b progress.
  • Phase 1C - Design Development; Implement owner review with design team, coordinate all engineering disciplines, review/update of budgets/schedules, participate and augment value engineering analysis, adjust documents as required, coordinate document preparation for client review.
  • Phase 1D - Contract Documents; advance consultant team working documents, constant review and document checking, review advancing documents against design development documents.
  • Phase IIA - Tendering; coordinate tendering with client input, clarify bidder inquiries, participate in site tours, analyze tenders and make recommendations to client.
  • Phase IIB - Construction Administration; Full range of construction administration activities as outlined in Section 3.0 Consultant Work Plan.

John offers a wide range of experience in all facets of the architectural field. John has more than 21 years' experience in performing tasks of; chief design architect, principal in charge and managing partner. He lends from a full range of construction delivery method experience including; stipulated price contracts, construction management, 3rd party overview and design build processes.

John's 1 year tenure as on-site 3rd party overview representative for the Credit Union Central Tower II addition in Regina instilled a deep routed understanding of various construction processes, which included complex demolition requirements and complicated renovation assignments.

John embodies a strong work ethic and believes in a team approach to solving problems. He draws from this 'team approach' to help embody his philosophy of thorough, concise and well-crafted approach to the practice of architecture. John believes in listening to the client, fully understanding the parameters of each design problem, and completing the tasks on budget and on-time. He brings out the best in the client, contractor and the consultant staff to ensure the potential is fully realized in the members of the design and construction team.


1989 Bachelor of Architecture - Montana State University

Professional architectural accreditations have been held in the past in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia, with recent continuing education programs in building technology, building code application and performance applications. Currently John is a member in good standing and holds professional registration with the SAA (Saskatchewan Association of Architects).

Warren Pletz formed Perspective Consulting in January 2005 to provide AutoCAD and AutoCAD Architectural Desktop support to clients in Regina and surrounding area. The initial focus of Perspective Consulting was to provide consulting services including training, software setup and customization and technical support for AutoCAD as well as AutoCAD Architectural Desktop. Architectural drafting and rendering were also a major component of this start up business. Warren has been a user and teacher of AutoCAD software for over 10 years. The majority of his knowledge of the software has come from independent study and formal training courses in AutoCAD and Architectural Desktop software. He has completed software specific courses from Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, AutoDesk Courseware and ASCENT Center for Technical Knowledge courseware.

Warren has successfully completed the following credits from S.A.I.T. and maintained a 3.67 GPA (out of a possible 4) which is considered an excellent standing:

  • AutoCAD Level I (CADD-201)
  • AutoCAD Level II (CADD-202)
  • CADD System Management Level 1 (CADD-241)
  • CADD System Management Level 2 (CADD-342)

Warren has also completed the following ASCENT courses as self study - no credits are attached to these courses:

Warren is also very accomplished with the rendering component of AutoCAD as well as AutoDesk 3DS MAX and includes an Architectural Rendering and Animation Service as part of the Perspective Consulting business.

Perspective Consulting has provided training and rendering services to many firms and businesses in the Regina area since its inception in 2005.


Warren Pletz received his Bachelors of Education Degree with an Industrial Arts major and a Mathematics minor from the University of Saskatchewan in 1989. He has taught Industrial Arts and Drafting classes for a total of 20 years - the majority of which have been at Lumsden High School. This has afforded him the opportunity to gain experience with many of Autodesk's software solutions including Civil 3D and Autodesk Inventor.
